Favorite (Fabric) Shops: Hawthorne Threads

As a crafter, I have a lot of favorite online shops. Yes, I get a lot of stuff from local chain stores like Joann and Michael's, but I just have access to so much more thanks to the internet. Over the next couple of months, I'll be highlighting my favorite stores for fabric, yarn, and other craft supplies. I'll share what they cater to, favorite features, and my picks from each shop. Since I'm currently obsessing over fabrics, I thought I'd start there!

Pretty much my number one favorite place to buy fabric online is Hawthorne Threads. It's based out of Upstate NY and owned by a married couple, Charlie and Lindsay. How cute is that? My husband would rather die than look at fabric! They sell mostly quilting cottons, pre-cuts (mostly fat quarters), and designer home decor weight.

Not only do they get all the newest lines from Art Gallery, Westminster/Free Spirit, Michael Miller, Robert Kaufman, Cloud9... they also have just about every designer. I'm telling you, this place is stocked to the brim with good stuff. You can search my manufacturer, designer, collection, theme, and color grid. When you click on a collection, the prints are separated by the designer's palette so it's super easy to see which prints coordinate with each other. After clicking on a specific print, they also show the print in other colorways, recommended coordinates, handmade using the print, and the option to shop by similar colors. This immensely helpful when trying to pair colors via the internet. Plus, they have low shipping and weekly giveaways!

Hawthorne Threads makes it so easy to browse fabric, I guarantee you'll find more than you went looking for. Narrowing down a few picks was really hard and I after I did it, I realized that I'm crushing on citron, navy, aqua, and pink. I totally didn't mean for these fabrics to go together, I promise!
